First of all, you need to design it. Inspiration can come from anywhere. You may be inspired by something. You may have an idea already in mind. It could be a corporate identity or other branding image your client has requested.
Whatever your aim, if you're located in Australia or New Zealand, we suggest
that one of our Representatives visit you to show you the
range of options available. Click

Please note: Your image file must meet the following specifications
Maximum Image Size
The maximum printed image size of a 3600mm x 1200mm laminate
sheet is 3595mm x 1195mm.
We recommend that the maximum print area is fully utilised,
perhaps using smaller images to fill the space. Images such
as continuous wall murals larger than the maximum print size
of a sheet can be tiled together using multiple sheets of
laminate. If your image is larger than the maximum size, please
advise us at the time of quotation, and clearly indicate on
a colour laser print
Composition of Digital Files
It is preferred that digital files be created at 100% of the
final output size. If this is not possible, files may be scaled
for convenience. However, files should not be set up at less
than 50% of the final output size. All text and symbols should
be converted to curves and complete font sets supplied with
artwork. A 5mm bleed should be created at final output size.
Include crop marks where required. All files should be accompanied
with quality colour digital proofs with comprehensive size
mark-ups.
File names should be clearly marked.
Scans and original raster-based files must be saved as CMYK,
EPS files created at 100dpi at final output size. When saving
your Photoshop EPS files, save with 'JPEG (maximum quality)
encoding'. This will ensure maintenance of the quality of
your image whilst decreasing the file size for transferral
to the printer.
Notes:
1. If Illustrator files are provided with placed EPS files,
clear instructions must be provided together with your colour
laser prints, indicating the names and location of links on
the layout.
2. Saving your files at anything higher than 100dpi at actual
size will not benefit the printed quality; it will only complicate
and prolong the print process.
Colour
All colours should be supplied in four-colour process - CMYK,
not RGB or Pantone® colours. For accurate selection of
solid colours, refer to the solid colour references in the
'Fusion® Sample Pack' available from your representative
of The Laminex Group. This guide demonstrates how some RGB
and other colour references may vary when rendered to CMYK.
If colour matching is critical, tests can be performed to
achieve as close to your specifications as possible.
Any blacks created should be 4 -colour: 40% Cyan, 40% Magenta,
40% Yellow and 100% Black. This will achieve a rich, strong
black at final output.
Ink Limit
The paper that is used to print on for the Fusion process
is very thin and absorbent.
If a large area of dark colour is used this can cause the
paper to become highly saturated and make it susceptible to
breakdown. As such Fusion has set an Ink Limit as a general
guide to follow which will help to ensure your job runs smoothly
through the system.
The Ink Limit is specified as 160% maximum ink coverage.
To achieve this calculation is very simple, printing in colour
requires 4 primary colours, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black,
each colour can be specified in percentages from 0 to 100%.
The terminology works, as no colour would be 0% and 100% of
each colour combined would be 400%. As an example PMS Blue
285 is made up of 89% Cyan and 43% Magenta so ink coverage
is 132% where as PMS Blue 286 is made up of 100% Cyan, 66%
Magenta and 2% Black so this is 168% ink coverage which is
just over the limit.
In most cases photos that are being printed will have areas
that are over the ink limit but problems will only arise if
those dark areas are very large. Large areas of flat dark
colour over the ink limit must be avoided.
Type and Text
The minimum recommended type sizes are:
Sans Serif type 3-4mm height at final output size
Serif type 3-4mm height at final output size
Sans Serif reverse type 4-5mm height at final output
size
Serif reverse type 4-5mm height at final output size
Note: Bold or black type will achieve the best results. Results
may vary depending on chosen type and background colour.
Scanning Original Artwork
When original artwork is provided, (eg. photos, drawings and
other non-digital files) the artwork must be clean, flat and
in good condition. High-resolution scanning of artwork (maximum
size 500mm x 630mm) and finished layout and design can be
performed to your requirements.
To achieve the highest quality results, drum scanning is recommended
if original artwork has the flexibility to suit this process.
Items that cannot be scanned can be photographed and then
scanned from transparencies.
Indemnity and Copyright
Where the customer supplies literary and/or artistic works
to The Laminex Group for incorporation into Fusion® laminate,
the customer must indemnify The Laminex Group and all parties
involved in the production of the product from any claims
by third parties for infringement of copyright in those literary
and/or artistic works.
If the customer provides material to The Laminex Group for
incorporation into Fusion® laminate and copyright in that
material is not owned by the customer, the customer must provide
written permission from the copyright owner authorising the
use and reproduction of that material into Fusion® laminate.

File Transport
Send digital files on DVD, CD-ROM, Zip disks, Firewire drives,
Macintosh formatted external hard drives.
Important! Always retain a complete final
back-up copy of your files.
A final check!
After copying your file to your transport media, print laser
proofs from the copied files to ensure all components have
been supplied and no errors have occurred during copying.
Please include an Adobe PDF file as a preview of the artwork
you wish to print.
Provision of Colour Laser Prints
It is a necessity that you provide a colour laser print/s
of the supplied artwork on disk. This is usually printed out
at a percentage of the actual size of the artwork, due to
the large scale nature of Customart / Fusion.
This will facilitate the output process, to ensure that your
artwork is output exactly how you designed it!
Please ensure any special requests, dimensions, or notes
are clearly noted on these colour laser prints.
